The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has risen drastically in the middle of the ongoing Omicron crisis. Many celebrities from the film industry have recently tested positive for the deadly virus. Meanwhile, Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s daughter and filmmaker, recently took to Instagram to announce that she had contracted COVID-19 despite taking all appropriate precautions. Aishwaryaa further went on to reveal that she got hospitalised after testing positive.

Sharing a picture of herself from the hospital, she wrote, “Tested positive even after all the precautions..got admitted. Please mask up, get vaccinated and be safe. Bring it on 2022. We will see what more is that you have in store for me,” she wrote.

Fans wished her a speedy recovery after learning of her diagnosis. “Get well soon Aishwarya,” a social media user commented. “Please take care,” another one wrote.

Aishwaryaa and estranged husband Dhanush caused quite a stir last month when they announced their divorce after 18 years of marriage. The Raanjhanaa actor took to Twitter and released this statement, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.”

“Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivaaya! Spread love, D,” it continued.

Soon after the announcement, the two flew to Hyderabad to work on their respective projects while staying in the same hotel. While Dhanush was apparently filming his next film, Aishwaryaa is keen to return to the director’s chair and begin her next project.

Dhanush married Aishwaryaa, the daughter of megastar Rajinikanth, in a traditional South Indian ceremony on November 18, 2004. Dhanush was 21 years old at the time, while Aishwarya was 23. They apparently met when Dhanush’s film Kadhal Kondaen was launched and have two boys together. Yatra and Linga, the couple’s boys, were born in 2006 and 2010, respectively.
