Masti 4 is set to bring back the iconic trio- Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, after 8 long years. The journey started in 2004 with the release of Masti, followed by Grand Masti in 2013 and Great Grand Masti in 2016. The shoot for the upcoming film has already begun.
Sharing the first glimpse from day 1 shoot, Aftab Shivdasani posted a video on his Instgaram handle. The short but funny clip featured Ritesh along with film’s director Milap Zaveri having a hilarious conversation. As Milap tried to kiss Ritesh, he tried to move away. Aftab from the background is heard saying, “Itna jo pyaar dekhne ko mil raha hai hume is set par.” Ritesh then jokingly adds, “Milap, just leave me alone. I want to get out of this film now.” Ignoring him entirely, Milap keeps on hugging and singing the title track of Masti. In the caption, Aftab wrote, “Meanwhile.. the first day of #masti4 loveoozing 🤡😘.”
Milap Zaveri Takes The Charge
Write-director Milap Zaveri has been behind the hilarious script of all three films of the franchise. However, this time, he has also worn the director’s hat. While the first three films were directed by Indra Kumar, Milap will be taking the charge for Masti 4.
In Feburary earlier this year, he made the announcement with a logo and wrote a long post. “20 years ago I had the honour of meeting the Legendary Indra Kumar sir and Ashok Thakeria sir to narrate #Masti along with my partner @tusharhiranandani 20 years later I’ve gotten the honour and privilege to Direct #Masti4 Humbled and grateful that Induji has entrusted the directorial reins of his super hit franchise to me. Thanks to Amar Jhunjhunwala sir, @shikhab4u and @wavebandproduction for showing faith in me and joining this franchise as producers. Such a pleasure working with them.”
He then showed excitement for working on the film with the cast and added, “Excited to begin this naughty, mad journey of laughter and craziness with @riteishd @vivekoberoi @aftabshivdasani who are my friends as well as my heroes. All 3 have been the rockstars of this franchise and have entertained audiences since 20 years! Vivek with his brilliance, Aftab with his “IDEA” and Ritesh with his comic genius! Cant wait to direct them! I specially want to thank Ritesh from the bottom of my heart. Sethji love you for always being there for me.”
