Star shooter Manu Bhaker has been selected as India’s flag-bearer for the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024. The 22-year-old has made history by clinching two Olympic medals in a single edition of the Games.

Manu Bhaker opened India’s medal tally by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event. She demonstrated her exceptional skills and composure to secure the first medal for the country at these Games.

Second Medal in Mixed Team Event

Continuing her impressive performance, Manu went on to win another bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, alongside Sarabjot Singh. This achievement solidified her position as one of India’s top shooters.

Near Miss in Women’s 25m Pistol Event

Manu was on the verge of creating even more history by becoming the only Indian to have won three Olympic medals in a single edition. However, she narrowly missed out on a medal in the women’s 25m pistol event.

Praise from the Indian Olympic Association

An official from India’s Olympic Association (IOA) revealed the decision to make Manu the flag-bearer and praised her outstanding performance at the Paris Olympics. “Yes, Manu has been chosen to be the flag-bearer. She has done exceptionally well and deserves the honour,” the official told

Expressing her gratitude, Manu Bhaker said she was honored to be given the responsibility, acknowledging that many in the contingent were equally deserving.

Closing Ceremony Details

The closing ceremony of the currently ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 will be held on August 11, Sunday. Manu Bhaker will proudly lead the Indian contingent, marking the end of a memorable Olympic campaign for India
