Team India’s newly appointed mentor for the ICC World T20 is busy smashing sixes as MS Dhoni continues his preparations for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Even though Team India pacer Deepak Chahar was on the receiving end during CSK’s training session, the speed merchant and make-shift lower-order batsman was all praise for the talismanic batsman of the Yellow Brigade.

CSK’s emergence was complimented by the pace bowling brilliance of Chahar in the 1st leg of the cash-rich league. Led by legendary skipper Dhoni, the three-time IPL champions will hope to strengthen their title bid in the second leg of the prestigious tournament. In one of the latest videos of the ongoing practice sessions, the CSK legend and former Team India skipper was seen smashing bowlers out of the park.

Talking about Dhoni’s batting onslaught in the nets, Chahar revealed that CSK pacers have been put under pressure by the batsmen. Chahar also asserted that the CSK skipper has resorted to smashing massive sixes. “Mahi bhai is hitting really long sixes. Not just Mahi bhai, but everyone is hitting big sixes. All the bowlers are under pressure,” Chahar said.

One of the greatest players to play the gentlemen’s game, Dhoni will make his return to competitive cricket with the second leg of the IPL 2021. Dhoni, who guided CSK to three IPL titles was recently named Team India’s mentor for the ICC World T20. Dhoni’s appointment as the mentor of the Virat Kohli-led Team India side was hailed by the entire cricket fraternity.

Before joining the Team India camp for the World Cup in UAE and Oman, Dhoni will be eager to deliver the goods for the CSK franchise in the IPL 2021. Dhoni-led CSK will lock horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
