Legal Trouble For Vijay! Actor Booked For Allegedly Disrespecting Muslims At Iftar Gathering: Report

Tamil superstar Vijay popularly known as Thalapathy is in legal trouble after a police complaint was lodged against him by the Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath. As per reports by News 18, the row is over an Iftar party organized by the actor in Chennai on Friday, which, the complainants feel has hurt the religious feelings of Muslims. The complaint has been made at the office of the Police Commissioner of Chennai, seeking immediate action against Vijay.

Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath’s Allegations

Syed Kous, Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath’s treasurer, spoke about the complaint to the media. He complained that the Iftar party hosted by Vijay was done in a manner that disrespected the Muslim community. As per him, people unrelated to fasting or Iftar were invited and their behaviour insulted Muslims. Syed said, “Muslims were insulted at the Iftar program organised by Vijay. We believe the participation of drunkards and rowdies who had nothing to do with fasting or Iftar has insulted Muslims.” He also added that “Legal action should be taken against Vijay to ensure this does not happen again. We did not file a complaint for publicity.”

Vijay Yet To Respond

A the controversy unfolds, Vijay is yet to respond to the charges or legal complaint. Fans eagerly await how the actor will put the issue in perspective. While Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath is demanding that action be taken, but for now it remains to be seen whether Thalapathy will speak out or act on the grievances made against him.
