Navarasa is one of the most-anticipated Tamil anthologies which was announced by the makers of the Tamil Film Industry last year. The project will feature 9 films with 9 varied emotions, thus justifying the title Navarasa (9 emotions).
The shooting of the anthology commenced right after the relaxations of COVID (Wave 1) was announced and filmmakers associated with it began completing their short films in quick successions.
Acclaimed cinematographer, PC Sreeram helmed lenses for one of the Navarasa projects. Today, PC took to his Twitter handle and announced the release date of the anthology.
PC has worked in the short film directed by Gautham Menon that starred Suriya in the lead role. The shooting of the film had commenced in November 2020.
Soon, the pictures of the crew including Suriya, Gautham Menon and PC Sreeram had surfaced on the internet. Many fans shared the pictures on their Twitter handle which went viral. Today, PC Sreeram shared one such picture along with the slide that contained the text Navarasa August 2021
For those unaware, Suriya and Gautham Menon have joined hands after 12 years. The duo’s stint was last seen in the National-Award winning film Vaaranam Aayiram. The film became a benchmark for both Suriya and Gautham.
The film had music by Harris Jayaraj while Anthony Gonsalvez took care of the editing department. Though the film opened up to mixed reviews among the audience, it turned out to be the favourite film of many fans a few years down the lane.
After Vaaranam Aayiram, Suriya and Gautham joined for the film Dhruva Natchathiram in 2013. The film was announced with a mega crew with AR Rahman as the music composer.
However, the delay in the project made Suriya opt out of the project. Therefore, Suriya and Gautham Menon avoided any professional collaboration for a few years, until Navarasa.
