At least three suspected terrorists of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested by Kolkata Police’s Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday afternoon. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.

According to reports, the three suspected JMB terrorists were living in a rented accommodation in Kolkata’s Haridevpur for the past couple of months in the middle-class locality, raising concern among locals.

The three suspected terrorists were nabbed following a tip-off, a senior police officer said. “We are investigating the matter and interrogating them. It is at a very initial stage,” he added.

After the operation, Kolkata Police STF’s joint CP, V Solomon Nesakumar confirmed, “We have found Jihadi literature and their Facebook accounts are being analysed. A handwritten diary containing names and numbers of important JMB members has also been found.”

“Investigation has started. We will present the accused before court tomorrow,” he added
