Khatron Ke Khiladi will soon return with is most awaited 15th season and the makers are currently in the process of finalising the contestants. As per reports, Elvish Yadav and Chum Darang have also been approached for the show but have not said yes to participate yet. Elvish and Chum have been making the headlines afer they got into war of words after Bigg Boss 18.
According to Siasat Daily, both Elvish and Chum have not confirmed their participation in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 yet. Both of them rose to fame after Bigg Boss as Chum became the finalist of its latest season and Elvish won Bigg Boss OTT 2.
About The Controversy:
The controversy began when a clip from Elvish’s podcast surfaced on Reddit. In the video, he was seen mocking Chum Darang’s name and making offensive remarks about her as a potential love interest for Karan Veer Mehra. He allegedly said, “Karanveer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai.”
Later, Elvish reacted to the outrage on social media and revealed that he has removed the part where he is talking about Chum. He said, “Toh maine kholke dekha maine kahi kya racist remarks pass kare hain? Maine Chum ke upar kuch bol rakha tha. Waise maine kaha maine bola ya nahi, hatao, mujhe negativity chahiye hi nahi. Agar maan lo kisiko kharab lag raha hai mere bolne se, toh bhai, wo part maine remove kar diya. (So, I opened it up to see if I had said any racist remarks. I had said something about Chum. I don’t care whether I said it or not, I removed it. I don’t want any negativity. If anyone felt bad because of what I said, then brother, I have removed that part).”
Meanwhile, reacting to Elvish’s statement about her, Chum wrote on her Instagram story, “Disrespecting someone’s identity & name is not ‘fun.’ Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter.’ It’s time we draw the line between humor and hate. What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity—my hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali were also disrespected.”
She added, “To my fellow Northeasterners and everyone who has faced racism—I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you. We all deserve respect, dignity, and equality. Let’s raise our voices against racism and promote a culture of empathy, kindness, and understanding. #NoRoomForRacism #NotOkayWithRacism.”
According to reports, Elvish was also summoned by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in this case. He is yet to react to this action by NCW.
