Pietersen is convinced that Rahul must be India’s first option for No. 4 batting position and wicketkeeper in T20 internationals. Pietersen believes his form at the moment in IPL 2025 is strong enough to earn him a spot in the team. Following an excellent IPL 2024 campaign with 520 runs, KL Rahul has displayed a more attacking and polished style of play in IPL 2025 with Delhi Capitals.

Pietersen pointed out that since India has already got a solid top-order already established, Rahul would be an ideal candidate to bat at No. 4 in T20Is.
