KBC 13’s first crorepati on losing her eyesight: ‘For 6 months, face par smile jaisa kuch tha hi nahi’

The thirteenth season of KBC returned to the small screen on August 23. Once again, Amitabh Bachchan is hosting the quiz show, in which lakhs of participants aspire to become crorepati. This season has arrived with certain changes in the format but people have got lucky on the show, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. A 25-year-old contestant from Agra has become the first crorepati of this season of KBC. Her name is Himani Bundela, as revealed by the makers of the show on social media.

Himani is all set to attempt Rs 7 crore question on the quiz show. But before she appears that on KBC 13, Himani, who is visually impaired, opened up about a phase after losing her eyesight due to an operation, which she had to undergo due to an unfortunate accident.

“Losing vision after the accident was unexpected. When I went for the operation, I didn’t have an idea, that something like this would happen. For six months, face par smile jaisa kuch tha hi nahi. (I was) completely depressed. But my family and friends supported me during that phase and their support kept me motivated. Mere bhai-behen bohot chote chote the but they used to support me. Phir unn cheezo se bahar aagayi main bohot achese,” Himani told

Himani, who is also a Math teacher, shared that she plans to open a coaching centre for differently-abled irrespective of the amount she wins on the show. “I wish to start a coaching centre for competitive purposes. There will be no different classes. We will teach all differently abled in one class, vo bhi UPSC level ka,” added Himani.

She further mentioned that her father lost his job due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And with whatever amount she wins on the show, i.e Rs 1 or Rs Rs 7 crore, Himani said she has also planned to invest in a small business for her parents’ financial security

Meanwhile, the makers of Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 also shared a promo, in which host Amitabh Bachchan could be seen introducing her on the show. The day KBC 13 was announced, Big B had taken to his Instagram handle and captioned the post: “Gyaan ke terve abhiyaan ki ghoshna ho chuki hai! Wapas aa raha hai dhandaar, gyandaar aur shandaar KBC phir ek baar aapka dil jeetne. “
