‘Kashmir Will Be Ours’: LeT Issues Threats To India, Vows Revenge For Operation Sindoor

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has issued new threats against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a purported video clip that has surfaced online this week.

In the nearly two-minute video, allegedly recorded during a public gathering in Bahawalpur around September 17, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri, alias Khalid, has vowed to avenge India’s “Operation Sindoor,” air strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the Pahalgam terror attack in May 2025.

Kasuri claimed that Lashkar’s “resolve is strong” and warned, “The time is near when their rivers will be ours, their dams will be ours, the entire Jammu and Kashmir will be ours.” He further alleged that the Pakistani government and military funded the rebuilding of Lashkar’s Muridke headquarters, which was damaged in the strikes.

Kasuri, a senior LeT commander, is the alleged mastermind of the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people. He is also linked to The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar proxy group.

These remarks come as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander Ilyas Kashmiri said that Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir directed senior officers to attend the funerals of terrorists killed during India’s Operation Sindoor.

In a video that surfaced online, Ilyas stated that the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ), the central command where top military leaders, including the Chief of Army Staff, ordered that the slain militants be honoured with a final salute. Ilyas added that Corps commanders were instructed to join the funeral processions in uniform and provide security.

Ilyas further said that after escaping from Tihar Jail following the IC-814 hijack, Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar was sheltered in Pakistan, where Balakot served as a base for advancing his plans and activities in Delhi and Mumbai.

Operation Sindoor

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 6–7 in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. In a large-scale overnight offensive, the Indian Armed Forces struck nine terror facilities across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation targeted and severely damaged the core infrastructure of two of the most notorious terror outfits in the region — Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Reports indicate that more than 100 militants were killed during the strikes.
