Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress Shubhaavi narrates anecdote with on-screen son Parth Samthaan

Shubhaavi Choksey is a known name in the industry, thanks to her role of Meera Singhania in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Rishika Rai Chaudhary in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and as Mohini Basu’s mother in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. TV actor Parth Samthaan had essayed the role of her on-screen son in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She had essayed a negative role in the serial but fans loved her on-screen bond with her son. The last episode of the show was shot in October 2020. Even though, the show went off-air. Shubhaavi took a walk down memory lane and remembered an anecdote with her on-screen son.

She opened up about her bond with Parth and narrated a fond incident from the set of the show. During an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, Shubhaavi spoke about being addressed as ‘maatei’ off-screen by Parth.

“When he used to have a cold or cough or something on set, I would go and tell him ‘have you taken medicine?’ He would say ‘ha (yes) will take.’ Again after a couple of hours, before pack up (I) would ask ‘have you taken medicine? ‘Are you feeling ok’? I remember messaging him at night and again asking. He would say ‘Maate I have taken it. I am fine now'”.

The actress who has played a mother on-screen to people almost her age feels that breaking the typecast is difficult.

“I think the days of typecasting are still there. There is a lot more scope of breaking that. I remember last year when I took the decision of me wanting to do my age group roles and people can see me somewhere. I have done roles where nobody knows how I look or how I am in real. I realised it would be easy. I said people would know. I got central characters, despite not being the main protagonist. I got strong characters and roles. It’s been a journey for me,” she said.

About her journey in the entertainment industry, Shubhaavi shared, “It’s been very good actually. A lot of things have come to me by chance and now there are things I do not want by chance. I am taking a small break, for what I want to do. The journey has been great”.

Shubhaavi’s show Kasautii Zindagii Kay was one of the top Indian TV shows and had a stellar cast of Erica Fernandes, Sahil Anand alongside Shubhaavi and Paarth.
