In a surprise move, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have put their past differences behind them and joined forces for a new romantic comedy. The film, titled ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, marks Kartik’s return to the genre that catapulted him to stardom.

The project is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Sameer Vidwans. Kartik took to Instagram to share a quirky promo video introducing his character, Ray, a self-proclaimed mama’s boy with a tumultuous dating history. He captioned the video, “Tumhara RAY aa raha hai RUMI ✈️ ♥️ Mummy ki khaayi hui kasam, yeh Mumma’s boy poori karke he rehta hai! Super excited to return to my fav genre Rom-com #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri…The biggest love story coming to cinemas in 2026.”

Karan Johar also shared the video on his Instagram stories, calling it “a merry gift this Christmas”. The two have seemingly put their past rift behind them, and fans are thrilled to see them collaborate.

The Fallout

Their fallout occurred in 2021 when Kartik was dropped from Karan’s ‘Dostana 2’, which was set to star him alongside Janhvi Kapoor. However, in April this year, the two were spotted together at an event, where Karan introduced Kartik as “a superstar”. A video on Reddit showed Karan inviting Kartik to the stage with the following intro: “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, give it up… Kartik Aaryan is in the house! Ye hui na entry… superstar, hero wali entry… aa chuke hai humare superstar.”
