Kareena says breastfeeding Jeh felt like an achievement; reveals was ‘dry for 14 days’ after Taimur’s C-Sec

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently released her pregnancy book and broke the internet when it was revealed that the actress and husband Saif Ali Khan named their second child Jehangir. Though it was earlier revealed that the newborn’s name was Jeh, it was, in fact, short for Jehangir. Talking about her pregnancy, the actress shared that she wasn’t able to breastfeed her elder son Taimur when he was born.

In her book, titled Kareena Kapoor’s Pregnancy Bible, she wrote, “Taimur was an abrupt Caesarean. I literally had no milk for over 14 days. I was completely dry. My mom and my nurse would be hovering by my side, pressing at my boobs and wondering why ‘it’ wasn’t happening.” But as tough as it was in her first pregnancy, it was smooth in her second pregnancy.

Kareena revealed that for Jeh the flow was better and it was easier to manage him. “(During Jeh’s birth), I had much better flow and did manage to nurse him. I’ll admit it – breastfeeding him (and doing it exclusively for a few weeks) felt like an achievement!” she wrote. The actress had earlier shared that her first pregnancy was like a breeze and so she opted for childbirth again.

However, this time, the actress said in her Instagram LIVE session with filmmaker Karan Johar, “This time, it was difficult. During the time when I had Taimur, it was like a breeze and that’s why I decided to go for childbirth again. But Jeh was difficult.”

After getting discharged from the hospital, Kareena said that it wasn’t the same when she looked at herself in the mirror. “There was a lot of mental distress I was going through at that time. I felt my body had stretched, my feet were feeling like 100 kgs. This pregnancy was different than Taimur’s. That was fun (sic),” she said.

A few days ago, Kareena shared a collage of photos with her two sons and wrote, “My strength… my pride… my world! #MyPregnancyBook wouldn’t be possible without my babies. I can’t wait for you guys to read about my journey, the experiences, and learnings. The pre-order link is in my bio. #3DaysToGo.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena will be seen in the upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha co-starring Aamir Khan. The movie, which will also feature Naga Chaitanya, is an adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump and is reportedly going to hit the screens around Christmas.
