Popular film actor Mamta Kulkarni recently returned to India after the Bombay High Court quashed all criminal proceedings against her in connection with a ₹2,000 crore drug trafficking case. Soon after her comeback, the actor interacted with the media and revealed the “real story” behind everything, making several shocking revelations.
Mamta, who ruled the silver screen in the 90s with films such as Karan Arjun and Baazi, was reportedly married to Vicky Goswami, the mastermind behind the drug racket exposed in 2016. Vicky was allegedly involved in the manufacture and procurement of Ephedrine, a controlled substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. He was arrested in Dubai in 1997 and served a 10-year sentence; Mamta used to visit him in jail.
Mamta Kulkarni Reacts
Several news publications back then reported that Mamta got married to Vicky while he was in the prison. However, the actor has now quashed all the reports and clarified that she is single. “I am not married to Vicky, he is not my husband. I am still single. I have not married anyone. Vicky and I have had a relationship but I blocked him 4 years ago,” Mamta told News18.
She went on to reveal her connection with Vicky and also shared how she was not the only one from the industry to visit him. “Vicky is a good man, he has a good heart. Everyone from the film industry used to visit him, so I also went to meet him. But I was also the last person from the film industry to meet Vicky. When I came to know about his truth, I left him. He was in Dubai jail. I started meditating to get him out of jail. Vicky came out of jail in 2012. I met him in 2016. After that he was arrested again. He is my past now. I have left him,” the actor shared.
