Among the many celebrity weddings in Bollywood, the one that cinema-goers would have etched in their memories is Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s marriage ceremony. After falling in love with each other on the sets of Tashan, the couple tied the knot in 2012 with their family members and close friends in attendance. Kareena’s bridal attire became an iconic look as she wore a revived version of her mother-in-law and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore’s bridal dress.
Though Saif and Kareena’s wedding wasn’t a grand affair, many bigwigs of the film industry were spotted at the ceremony. Several years later, Saif arrived on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotion of his film Bhoot Police. The actor was accompanied by his co-stars Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez.
While comedian Kapil Sharma asked Yami Gautam about her recent wedding with 20 guests in attendance, Saif shared that he and his wife, too, wanted a close-knit ceremony but because the Kapoor family has over 200 members, it ended up becoming a grand affair. Talking about the same, Saif, who couldn’t stop laughing, said, “Jab humne shaadi ki thi tab humne bhi decide kiya tha ki closed family karenge lekin Kapoor family jo hai wo kum se kum 200 hai.”
Sharing more about weddings on the comedy show and how expensive they are, Saif ended up saying, “Mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai expensive shaadi se. Mere chaar bache hain, mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai.” [Loose translation: Expensive weddings scare me. I have four kids. I’m really scared.]
On the work front, Saif was recently seen in Bhoot Police alongside Arjun Kapoor, Yami and Jacqueline Fernandez. The movie had released on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 10. The actor has several other projects lined up. He will star in Adipurush with Telugu star Prabhas. The film is based on the Hindi mythology Ramayana. It will also feature Kriti Sanon as Sita while Saif will play Lankesh.
Besides this, Saif has Bunty Aur Babli 2 in the pipeline. The movie is a spiritual sequel to the 2005 hit film, which starred Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Rani will star in the second instalment along with Saif and a new jodi – Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.
