Renowned Kannada actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty gained nationwide popularity with his movie ‘Kantara’, and fans have been eagerly waiting for his next project. The actor will now make his grand Telugu debut with director Ashwin Gangaraju and has unveiled his first look from the yet-untitled film.
Announcing the film, the makers wrote on X: “Not all Rebels are forged in Battle. Some are chosen by Destiny. And this is that story of a Rebel.. Proudly announcing @SitharaEnts Production No.36 with the versatile and dynamic @shetty_rishab garu. Directed by @AshwinGangaraju Produced by @vamsi84 & #SaiSoujanya.”
The film is currently being made under the title ‘Production No. 36’ and its official name has not been announced. Other details, such as the star cast and release date, have also been kept under wraps.
On the work front, Rishab Shetty has a bunch of exciting projects lined up. He is currently working on the prequel to his blockbuster film ‘Kantara’. The movie, titled ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, is slated for a theatrical release on 2 October 2025.
He will also star in ‘Jai Hanuman’, directed by Prasanth Varma. Announced in October 2024, the film is being made for an immersive IMAX 3D experience. Announcing the film, the makers wrote, “A vow from the Tretayuga, bound to be fulfilled in the Kaliyuga. National Award-winning actor @rishabshettyofficial and Sensational Director @prasanthVarmaofficial bring forth an epic of loyalty, courage and devotion. A @mythriofficial’s proud presentation in association with @thepvcu.”He will also be seen in ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’ in the titular role. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on January 21, 2027.
