The young batting dazzler and the skipper of the Kanpur Superstars, Sameer Rizvi produced one of the gem of an innings to save out his side from a tough situation. His fighting knock of 89 runs off 59 balls took Superstars’s total to 156 against Lucknow Falcons at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
The team was reeling at 16/3, when Rizvi walked out to bat. Rizvi started off well but on the other side, his side tumbled to 50/6. This didn’t stop the Kanpur’s skipper and he eventually played a Dhoni-esque style of playing and kept the scoreboard going.
Rizvi showed his intent and played cautiously to make 89 runs off 59 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 6 sixes.
Rizvi eventually got dismissed on the second-last delivery of the final over but by then, the Kanpur Superstars were on a good course and posted 156.
In the second innings, the Falcons fought hard and gave a tough fight to the Superstars but lost the game by a close margin of 3 runs. From Lucknow, skipper Priyam Garg yet again showed his class and was the top-scorer for his side. He scored 31 runs off 23 balls.
