Vicky Thomas Singh Threatens Kangana Ranaut Over ‘Emergency’ Role

In a video shared on social media, Vicky Thomas Singh, a Christian who became a Nihang Sikh, alludes to an indirect reference to the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the role Ranaut is essaying in the movie.

He says in the video, “If the film shows Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as a terrorist, remember what happened to Indira Gandhi, the character you’re portraying. Do you know who Satwant Singh and Beant Singh were? We are ready to sacrifice ourselves for Santji, and those who are willing can also take action.”

Satwant Singh and Beant Singh were the bodyguards who assassinated Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.

Ranaut Seeks Police Help After Threatening Video Shared

Ranaut shared the video on X and asked the police for help, writing, “Please investigate this,” and tagging the police from Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab.

Several Sikh bodies have demanded a ban on the film, which is slated for a September 6 release, for maligning the Sikh community. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee said Bhindranwale was a martyr for the community, and that it was not fair to portray all Sikhs as separatists.

The BJP MP from the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, sparked a controversy on farmers’ protest by equating it with riots in Bangladesh. In a video shared on X, Ranaut claimed there were bodies hanging incidents and rapes during the protest against farm laws.

She went further to insinuate that the unrest in Bangladesh would have equally and with ease occurred in India, accusing the “foreign powers” and “filmy people” of fanning the protests even upon repeal of the laws.

The leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Ambavata Dilbagh Singh Hooda lashed out at Ranaut’s recent remarks as untenable. He asked for an apology while warning that protests would ensue if she did not apologize.
