Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday (November 10) attended the Times Now Summit 2021. The actress, who recently received rave reviews for her performance as the actress-politician, late J Jayalalithaa in Thalaivii, talked about her films, political views, nationalistic leanings, and even her love life as she interacted with Navika Kumar, Group Editor, Times Network, and Editor-in-Chief, Times Now Navbharat.

During the course of the conversation, the actress spoke about love and her future. On being asked how she sees herself in five years, she said, “I definitely want to be married and have babies. I see myself as a mother in five years, as a wife, and as someone who is actively participating in the vision of new India.” On being asked whether she is already working on that project, Kangana just quipped “Yes”. When she was further probed, she did reveal that she’s indeed in “love” and as for who will be Mr Kangana Ranaut, the actress just added that “everyone will know soon”.

Kangana also opened up about grabbing headlines with her tweets and then eventually being banned by Twitter. The actress said, “I am more than happy to be suspended and banned from social media. I like being banned.”

The Manikarnika actress pointed out that several brands abandoned her during that period when she was initially banned from Twitter and several cases were lodged against her. She went on to add, “I was called to cop stations almost every week for my tweets. It was not a business dealing that I was doing, but I was just bringing attention to things no one was talking about.”

However, the actress did add that when she was banned she felt “wronged” and felt that her voice was taken away. Kangana stated, “A digital identity is something, which has a life of its own. When it is killed like that with that kind of violence, it does affect you.”

But the actress was quick to mention that she understands that Twitter is a profit-making company and if they can ban the President of the US for money, it can ban her as well. According to Kangana, the whole episode gave her a perspective on the larger scheme of things. “I want to put my ideas in a better way out there and not just through a tweet,” the actress said.

The actress also spoke about winning the Padma Award and how she felt receiving the honour from President Ram Nath Kovind. She said, “This award gives the validation that in this society, which is very conservative, there are women like me, who are being rewarded and awarded for being who we are and not just accepted but also looked up to for what we stand for.”

Kangana was also asked to comment on Karan Johar receiving the Padma Shri at the same ceremony. For the uninitiated, Kangana and Karan have locked horns many times and the actress has been critical of the filmmaker. Laughing, Kangana revealed that she actually tried to spot Karan at the ceremony, but clearly the organisers had made sure to keep their timings different.

The actress, who enjoys a fan following of 7.8 million on Instagram has been vocal about topics that go beyond cinema. She has also landed in several controversies because of her statements, but Kangana continues to take it all in her stride.
