England all-rounder and Test captain Ben Stokes didn’t give his name for the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. Stokes was the part of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2023 but hardly played two to three matches due to his knee injury. Stokes has had a huge love affair with injuries due to which he also retired from the ODI and T20I formats. Ben Stokes will be leading England in the three-match Test series against New Zealand all-set to begin from November 28.

Ben Stokes Reveals Reason After Missing Out From IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Ben Stokes opened up on not giving his name for the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. Speaking to BBC Sports, Stokes revealed that there is so much cricket and accepted the fact that he is towards the backend of his career. He said, “[There is] just so much cricket. There’s no hiding behind the fact that I’m at the back-end of my career. I obviously want to play as long as I possibly can. Looking after my body and looking after myself as much as I can is key to that.”

Ben Stokes missed out on the majority of the home summer due to his injured right hamstring. England performed extremely well on their previous tour of New Zealand and they will look forward on repeating the same performance. The two match series ended up at 1-1, wherein the English team registered a one-sided victory in the first Test played in Tauranga, whereas in the second match, the visitors couldn’t chase down the given target and lost the match by just one run.
