Jahangirpuri violence: Babita Phogat sparks row, says ‘everyone knows which society instigates riots’

Indian wrestler and BJP leader Babita Phogat has sparked a row with her recent tweets on Jahangirpuri violence. Phogat said that Hindu society never riots adding that everyone knows which “society” instigates riots in the country.
“Hindu society never riots. Everyone knows the name of the society which indulges in rioting. Everyone is aware of their identity. Earlier there were Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Tahir Hussain and now Ansar, Salim, Imam Sheikh, Dilshad, Ahid and Aslam,” she tweeted.
In another tweet, the wrestler accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of orchestrating the riots and called it a party of goons and criminals.
‘AAP leaders, workers instigated riots in Jahangirpuri’
Accusing AAP leaders and workers of indulging in violence, Phogat said this was proved during riots in Shaheen Bagh and everything was out in the open once the investigation was complete.
The same thing will happen once the probe into Jahangirpuri violence is out, she added.
She also targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the issue and claimed that he has ties with the anti-nationals of JNU, rioters of Shaheen Bagh and rioters of Jahangirpuri.
What this relationship is called, she asked.
‘What happened with Hindus in Kashmir is now happening with Hindus of Delhi’
The wrestler, who won the gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, also said that what happened with the Hindus in Kashmir is now happening with the Hindus of Delhi.
Congress was silent then, Kejriwal is silent today. Then Congress was with stone pelters, today Kejriwal is with rioters, she said in another tweet.
Jahangirpuri had witnessed violent clashes, including stone-pelting, arson and firing, between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday. Eight police personnel and a local resident had sustained injuries.
Earlier  bulldozers razed several structures in the violence-hit area during an anti-encroachment drive by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation but it was stopped following a Supreme Court order.
