Giving an insight into the personality of his father, Jaaved said that he became the bread earner of his family from the age of 9.
“After Partition, everything was wiped out. He was on the streets. He was on a footpath of Mumbai with his mother. He had to start from scratch,” the Golmaal actor told indianexpress.com.
He stated that the didn’t have a conventional childhood but had to bear the responsibility of the family and fend for himself and his mother.
Talking about the lessons he learned from his father, Jaaved said that since he worked with people like Guru Dutt, Bimal Roy, V Shantaram and Mehboob, who were like “encyclopaedias”, his father absorbed a lot from them and passed it on to the kids.
