Indian all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the most legendary off-spinners in modern day cricket. Ashwin has been a brilliant cricketing mind and can make strategies to dismiss the batter by watching his feet movement. The latter also presents suggestions to the captain during the match and has all qualities of being a complete team player. As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is hyping up, Ravi Ashwin will be looking to take over Nathan Lyon and become the leading wicket taker in the history of the BGT. Ashwin is just two wickets away from Lyon, however, with the Australian off-spinner playing as well, Ashwin is expected to get a lot of competition.

Nathan Lyon Heaps Praise On Ravichandran Ashwin

However, Nathan Lyon seems to be impressed by Ravichandran Ashwin and termed him as an incredible bowler. Lyon admitted that he has learnt a lot from Ashwin and stated that he has watched a lot of Ashwin’s footages before playing against India. Speaking to Fox Cricket, Ashwin said, “Ash is an incredible bowler. I’ve gone head-to-head with him for basically my whole career, so I’ve learned a lot from Ash. He’s an incredibly smart bowler, and he’s able to learn and adapt very quickly, and I think the best bowlers in the world are able to do that.”

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is all set to begin from November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth and both teams will be looking forward on winning the match and make a winning start to the series. The Indian team has displayed a brilliant performance in the previous four editions of the BGT and ended up on the winning end. As the Indian team once again faces the Aussie challenge they will have the responsibility to maintain the brilliant level of their performance.
