‘It Will Only Get Worse’: Trump Warns Hamas As Israel Agrees To 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire Proposal

US President Donald Trump said that Israel has agreed to the conditions needed to finalise a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. Trump cautioned Hamas against rejecting the ceasefire deal, warning that “it will not get better — it will only get worse.”

According to Trump, Qatar and Egypt have “worked hard to bring peace” and will present a final proposal. He also said that negotiations to end the war will continue during the proposed ceasefire period.

“My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War. The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

This statement comes at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the US is scheduled for July 7, which is now just a few days away. Meanwhile, Israeli air strikes in Gaza are not stopping. On Monday, the Israeli army carried out about 50 air strikes, mainly targeting eastern Gaza City. According to Al Jazeera’s report, these attacks were carried out after the army’s warnings of forced evacuation.

Al Jazeera quoted medical sources as saying that at least 68 Palestinians died in Gaza on Sunday, of which 47 were killed in Gaza City and its northern areas. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, so far about 56,500 people have died in this war and more than 1,33,419 people have been injured. In contrast, about 1,139 people were killed in Israel and more than 200 people were taken hostage in the attacks on October 7.
