Trisha Krishnan has addressed the growing chatter surrounding her intimate scenes with veteran actor Kamal Haasan in their upcoming film Thug Life. The trailer features a few intimate moments between the two, including a kiss. It sparked a buzz on social media due to the 30 year age gap between the actors.

She has also been receiving negative feedback for her song Sugar Daddy in Thug Life where netizens are trolling her, who is in her 40s, dance to a song with an inappropriate title.

At the film’s pre release event in Mumbai, Trisha responded to the criticism and recalled how she was mesmerized by the project even before signing it. She said, “I think that’s something I knew when they announced the film and I had not even signed it. So that’s when I knew, wow, this is magic. And I was not even part of the film at that point in time.”

Rather than addressing the controversy directly, Trisha praised the synergy between director Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, calling their collaboration “pure magic.”

She added, “Like I just said before, to actually see them come together, to see their chemistry, like Kamal sir has said so many times before, they would speak with their eyes. They were in total sync with each other. And it was amazing to just watch them. So all of us as actors, we were like, oh damn, we have to do some work here. We’ve got to stop staring at them. So it was magic.”

Thug Life is gangster action drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies, the film stars Haasan, alongside Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Saraf. It is all set to hit the theaters on June 5.

On the work front, Trisha was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, both alongside Ajith Kumar. She will also appear in the upcoming Telugu fantasy film Vishwambhara starring Chiranjeevi.
