A highly anticipated film starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday has reportedly undergone a change in its release date. The film, which is based on the life of India’s top barrister C Sankaran Nair and his fight for justice in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, was initially set to release on March 14, 2025. However, trade analysts have now revealed that the film’s release is scheduled for April 18, 2025.

The film, titled Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, will now hit cinemas on Good Friday, with Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films backing the project. The new release date announcement was shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh via his Instagram handle.

The film delves into the heroic struggle of C Sankaran Nair, who battled against the British Raj to reveal the truth behind the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the movie features Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in leading roles.

The upcoming film, based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, focuses on Nair’s pivotal role in exposing the massacre and how it sparked the country’s freedom struggle.

No Official Confirmation Yet

Despite the buzz surrounding the release date change, there has been no official statement from either the actors or the production houses involved, confirming the new release date or providing details on the film’s name. The information has only been shared by trade analysts, and no official announcement has come directly from Dharma Productions or the cast.

The Untold Story Of C Sankaran Nair

C Sankaran Nair, a former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council, is remembered for his brave stance against the British colonial rulers. His courage in the courtroom played a key role in uncovering the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which ultimately contributed to the larger freedom movement in India.

This film aims to shine a light on the untold story of Nair’s legacy and his unwavering fight for justice, a battle that was vital in shaping the course of India’s history.
