IPL 2025: Devon Conway’s Comeback On Cards? CSK Drops A Major Hint Ahead Of DC Clash

The champion status of CSK under captain Ruturaj Gaikwad faces difficulties as the five-time winning franchise begins IPL 2025. CSK faces increasing pressure as they suffered consecutive losses during the early stage of the season both against RCB and RR. CSK currently stands in the eighth position in a 10-team points table, having secured just one victory from their first three matches, with a net run rate of -0.771.The team actively searches for new additions to their roster. CSK recently signalled to their fans that Devon Conway might return to the team this season.

CSK Management Considers Devon Conway’s Return To Strengthen Batting Lineup

CSK’s executive team is actively reviewing changes to their match lineup following a disappointing IPL 2025 season. The team plans to start their recovery before their DC match at MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 5 since their principal players struggle to maintain form. Team management could reintroduce opener Devon Conway since they plan to cheque the potential of their substitute players. The IPL 2025 mega-auction acquired Conway for ₹6.25 crore while he has compiled 924 runs across 22 matches with an average of 49 combined with a strike rate nearing 141.28. By fieldsing Conway along with Kiwi player Rachin Ravindra the management would create solid chassis for wicketkeeper Ruturaj Gaikwad to maintain his spot at number three.

CSK Hints At Devon Conway’s Comeback Amid Batting Struggles

Ahead of their next match, CSK sparked curiosity by sharing a video of Devon Conway playing eight-ball pool. The social media post about Conway’s game has ignited speculation about his potential return to CSK’s playing lineup following their recent performance dip. The previous seasons showcased the effectiveness of Ruturaj Gaikwad together with Devon Conway at the opening batting positions for the Super Kings. The franchise changed their combination of batting order for IPL 2025 but thus far the strategy has proven unsuccessful. Conway’s potential return to the team lineup could significantly boost CSK’s chances of climbing the table and keeping their playoff aspirations alive.
