The former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar supports Rishabh Pant’s recovery chances after Lucknow Super Giants dropped their opening match of the IPL 2025 to Delhi Capitals. The LSG captain showed poor performance during batting and leadership duties because he did not lead his team toward victory. According to Gavaskar Pant possesses the intelligence needed to analyse his mistakes and show improvement throughout IPL 2025. Pant’s eventual revival continues to inspire Gavaskar according to the spectator despite Ashutosh Sharma delivering a match-winning effort that secured victory for DC with 1 wicket remaining on Monday.

Gavaskar Confident In Pant’s Growth Despite Early Setback

Sunil Gavaskar indicated during his appearance on Kuhl Fans Match Centre on JioHotstar that Rishabh Pant will grow better throughout the IPL 2025 series by analysing his errors in Lucknow Super Giants’ defeat against Delhi Capitals. He explained that triumphing once in the tournament did not matter because Pant had twelve remaining games to demonstrate his value to the team. According to Gavaskar, Pant demonstrates intelligence in cricket and he will gain essential knowledge about batting and captaincy from his current experiences. He will deliver better results according to my prediction. Pant missed nine runs before he was dismissed early and his captaincy produced multiple unfavourable choices throughout the match.

Pant’s Tactical Errors And Gavaskar’s Optimism For Redemption

Pant battled problems at the batting crease but along with batting struggles he guided LSG into a close loss through his team selections. Pant opted for spin bowling in the 18th over which led to Ashutosh Sharma taking control of the match for DC. Pant’s mistake in missing a key stumping opportunity made his challenges even more difficult. Gavaskar expresses trust that strong batting performance will help Pant regain his confidence according to him. The batting form Pant displays will enhance his leadership capabilities“ according to Gavaskar’s prediction.
