The IPL 2025 match between LSG and MI concluded in suspense after skipper Hardik Pandya rejected a simple single to Mitchell Santner during the late innings which resulted in shock among the spectators and a surprised Akash Ambani the owner MI. The situation demanded a quick single since 14 runs remained with 4 balls remaining yet Pandya chose to bat instead which resulted in missing two important opportunities. Ambani stood shocked as video recordings showed him watching from the hospitality box when events suddenly shifted after a single became the key decision of the IPL 2025 match against LSG. The end of MI’s match left Pandya furious so he pitched his bat after which Ambani entered the MI dugout.

Hardik Pandya’s Final-Over Call Baffles Fans As Akash Ambani Reacts To MI’s Defeat

Many spectators remained confused by Hardik Pandya’s selection of cutting off Mitchell Santner’s potential single in the final over even though they had recently dismissed Tilak Varma to introduce Santner into the game. The strategic move to bring Santner to strike resulted in failure because Pandya decided to withhold trust from the new player. Pandya required 14 more runs from four possible balls yet he could not hit a boundary on those two deliveries because his team had already lost the game so he took one run instead. The match defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore left Akash Ambani shocked as he rushed into the dugout to comfort and motivate the disappointed players after Mumbai Indians suffered their 12-run loss.

LSG Dominate As Marsh Shines, MI Falter In Final Overs Despite Early Momentum

During their pursuit of 204 at Ekana Stadium against LSG. MI had positive momentum built by Suryakumar Yadav until his dismissal altered their chances in the 17th over. Tilak Varma lost his batting groove and ran out of the field after completing 25 runs in 23 deliveries. The final twelve balls demanded 29 more runs which Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan managed to secure. The 1-21 over performance by Digvesh Rathi brought him Player of the Match award while removing Naman Dhir on 46. The foundation for LSG’s commanding score arose when Mitchell Marsh smashed 60 runs off 31 balls containing nine four hits and two massive sixes.
