Intensified Anti-Terror Operations In Kashmir Following Pahalgam Attack

In response to the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 individuals, predominantly tourists, security forces in Kashmir have ramped up anti-terror operations across the region. The coordinated efforts, which have entered their third consecutive day, aim to dismantle terrorist networks and apprehend those who support such activities.

Over the past 72 hours, joint teams comprising the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other security agencies have destroyed the homes of nine terrorists and their associates. Sources indicate that extensive search and cordon operations are being conducted throughout the Kashmir Valley, with a particular focus on high-density forest areas where terrorists may be hiding.

In an effort to enhance public safety, approximately 5000 suspects have been detained for questioning as part of these operations. Authorities are meticulously targeting known terrorist associates and sympathizers to create a robust deterrent against further attacks similar to the recent tragedy in Pahalgam.

“The security forces are committed to flushing out any potential threats to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors in the region,” an official source said. To bolster security measures, additional Mobile Vehicle Check Points (MVCPs) have been established across the valley to monitor suspicious activities.

In Srinagar, police have conducted raids at the residences of 63 individuals linked to terrorist organizations in areas including Safakadal, Soura, and Lal Bazar. These operations are part of a broader investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) aimed at dismantling the support systems for terrorism.
