When we look back at Shah Rukh Khan’s trajectory in Bollywood, there are a few films, beyond his romantic dramas that always stand out – from Swades to Baazigar. But one movie that not a soul dislikes is Chak De! India. Shah Rukh as Kabir Khan, the women’s hockey team coach, was real, uninhibited, and vulnerable that made him relatable and extremely loved. The ’70 minutes’ speech still continues to be a meme favourite and so does the film. 

While re-runs of the move continue to take over our TV screens every once in a while, SRK who is also one of the wittiest actors had something really funny to say on Twitter earlier today. On the other hand, team India aka women’s hockey team beat Aushtra (1-0) in the Tokyo Olympics by making it to the semi-finals of the game for the very first time. Fans have been taking to Twitter to compare coach Sjoerd Marijne to SRK’s fictional chaacter Kabir Khan.

Marijne had earlier shared the happiest selfie on Twitter and Shah Rukh had the sweetest reaction to the same. Reacting as the ex-coach of team India, Shah Rukh made a request that is in the heart of every Indian. He wrote, “Haan haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back….for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan.”

A fan reacted to the same to write, “Two people who transformed Indian women’s hockey team. Kabir Khan (reel life). Sjoerd Marijne (real life)” while another fan went on to share a collage of the real-life match victory as well as the reel life match victory

On the film front, Shah Rukh has teamed up with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham for Pathan. The film’s shoot began in Dubai before the pandemic. The film will also star Salman Khan in a special role. It’s also being rumoured that SRK has teamed up with Atlee that reportedly stars Nayanthara in the lead.
