Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has now formally assumed the role of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) duty, after reporting to Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender on Friday, October 11. A few days back Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that Siraj would be made to join Group-I governmental position stating that the state was committed to taking care of sports and sporting personalities and at the same time trying to groom next generation talent. Interestingly, for this post, Siraj was exempted from his educational qualifications.
“For a Group-I job, the required educational qualification is a degree. Siraj has passed intermediate (12th class) but we have given the exemption to provide him the Group-I job,” the CM said.
On the cricketing front, Siraj recently played for India in its two-test Test match series against Bangladesh. He has further been picked for India’s forthcoming three-match Test series versus New Zealand and is expected to play a big role in the Test side for the five-match series in Australia.
