India WC Legend In Discussions To Replace Ashish Nehra As Gujarat Titans Coach

Gujarat Titans are expected to part ways with head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki before the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), according to reports. Nehra and Solanki have been with the franchise since its inception in 2022, during which they secured the title. In 2023, they finished as runners-up after losing to the Chennai Super Kings in an exciting final. While legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is being considered as a potential replacement for Nehra, no final decision has been made yet. Additionally, there are no updates about changes in the backroom staff.

A source close to the developments indicates that significant changes are expected for the Gujarat Titans. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are likely to depart, and discussions regarding Yuvraj Singh have already started. While nothing has been finalized yet, there could be major changes in the team’s coaching staff.

The report also mentioned that IPL owners are expected to meet with the BCCI on July 30 or 31 to discuss the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025. Key topics for the meeting include decisions on the number of player retentions, the Impact Player rule, and the salary caps for each franchise.

Meanwhile, after successfully leading the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 as head coach, Rahul Dravid is reportedly preparing for a new role in the Indian Premier League (IPL). With his tenure as head coach of the Indian team ending, Dravid has been linked to various IPL franchises. Initially, there were reports that he might join Kolkata Knight Riders, especially after their mentor Gautam Gambhir left to replace Dravid as the head coach of the Indian team. However, recent reports indicate that Dravid is in talks with his former IPL team, the Rajasthan Royals.
