Virat Kohli is set to play his 100th Test match at Mohali as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed a change in schedule for Team India’s next red-ball assignment against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. As per the revised schedule shared by the apex cricket board, hosts India will play a three-match T20I series with former world champions – Sri Lanka. Team India will then lock horns with the Asian giants in a two-match Test series. 

Tema India will play a total of five international matches with Sri Lanka. The Islanders will first play the T20I series instead of contesting the bilateral two-Test opera in India’s backyard. The first T20I of the three-match series will be played at Lucknow on 24th February. Dharamsala will host the 2nd T20I (26th February) and the 3rd T20I (27th February) between India and Sri Lanka.

The revised schedule shared by the BCCI has confirmed that the Test series opener will be played at Mohali from March 4th to 8th. The Mohali encounter between India and Sri Lanka will be Kohli’s 100th Test match for the ICC World Test Championship runners-up. The 2nd Test will be played at Bengaluru from March 12th to 16th. The red-ball series decider between India and Sri Lanka will be a Day and Night Test match.
 

Dubbed as one of the greatest batters in the modern era of the game, Kohli had stepped down as India’s Test captain after the South Africa tour. The 33-year-old has not scored a hundred for more than two years in the international arena. Kohli’s Test last century for Team India had arrived in a pink-ball match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens.
