India Surpasses China In QS Asia University Ranking 2025, IIT Delhi On 44th Spot

India Surpasses China in QS Asia University Ranking 2025. A total of 163 universities found spot in the list. India witnessed a highest growth in university representation in contrast with China. IIT Delhi ranked highest among Indian universities with 44th rank and surpassed IIT Bombay in terms of ranking. Chandigarh University has emerged as the top universities in Asia, as it got rise by 29 places to achieve 120th rank among all Asian Universities.

 

Among the Indian universities 59 have risen in their rankings, 51 dropped and 31 remained stable in their rank.

Chandigarh University Outshines On The List

Chandigarh University continues the peak of its good performance and secured a good spot the QS Asia University Rankings. Last time in the year 2024, Chandigarh University was on 149th spot, which got boost this time by 29 places. Making it reach 120th spot.

 Number Of Chinese And Japanese University On List

The ranking have featured 984 universities across 25 higher education systems, whereas, 135 Chinese university ranked in the list. Following them, Japan secures the third rank with a total of 115 universities spotted in the list.

Top 7 Indian Universities On The QS List

Total 7 Indian universities got featured in top 100 institutes in Asia, including Delhi University, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore and IIT delhi. Among these Indian universities IIT Delhi got the highest rank.

London-Based University ranking Organization surveys Asian Universities

Total 6,278 universities from Asia were surveyed by the London-based university ranking organization.  They used 11 indicators for evaluating the performance including, Employer Reputation, International Faculty Ratio, International Research Network, International Student Ratio, Academic Reputation, Faculty-Student Ratio, Citations per Paper, Outbound Exchange Students, Papers per Faculty, Inbound Exchange Students and Staff with PhDs.
