India Squad For ODI Series Against England: Jasprit Bumrah OUT, Check Who’s In

The three-match series between India and England will be starting from February 6 with the first ODI being played at Nagpur. But one of the most concerning aspect is that Jasprit Bumrah is now out of India’s squad and instead there’s a new addition of Indian Spinner Varun Chakravarthy.

Varun has travelled to Nagpur with the Indian squad and the participated in the training sessions on Tuesday ahead of the series opener scheduled on February 6. His incredible performance in the recently concluded T20I series earned him a call-up for ODI series. In the T20I series against England he picked up 14 wickets in five-match series with an excellent average of 9.86 and an economy of 7.66, he was also declared as the player of the series.

This is Varun Chakravarthy’s maiden call-up for ODIs and he is yet to make his debut. He only played 23 matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and finished as the second highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 6 matches.

India’s spin department is now stronger than ever with Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar already in the squad.

India Squad: Rohit Sharma (capt), Shubman Gill (vc), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana (first two ODIs), Jasprit Bumrah (third ODI)
