Indian Diplomat Kshitij Tyagi took a strong stance against Pakistan on Wednesday during the seventh meeting of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council. Tyagi who spoke on behalf of the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva, sharply criticized the country’s leadership and governance emphasizing that Pakistan is a failure, surviving on international handouts. Meanwhile, he expressed disappointment noting it was no surprise to see the country’s leaders and delegates continue to spread falsehoods and the spread of a ‘military-terrorist’ complex.

At the meeting, the Indian representative said, “It is regrettable to see Pakistan’s leaders and delegates continuing to spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex.” Tyagi condemned Pakistan’s use of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and stated that it is abusing it as its mouthpiece. He further added, “It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state which thrives on instability and survives on international handouts. Its rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity, and its governance of incompetence.”

Additionally, Tyagi contrasted Pakistan with India, highlighting that our country remains focused on democracy, progress, and the dignity of its people. He argued, “Values that Pakistan would do well to learn from.” Continuing a strong rebuke of Pakistan’s actions, Tyagi asserted that Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh will always be an integral and inalienable part of India and that the social and economic progress in these Union Territories for the last few years speaks for itself.

“Instead of its unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should remain focused on offering actual governance and justice to its citizens,” he added. He further noted that Pakistan is not in a position to lecture anyone. His remarks came after Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish on February 19, 2025, strongly criticised Pakistan’s misinformation campaigns.
