‘India Is Not Going To Stop’: PM Modi Hails Skilled Workforce As Suzuki’s EVs Begin Export To Over 100 Countries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  flagged off Suzuki’s first global battery electric vehicle, “e VITARA” for export to over 100 countries. He also inaugurated the local production of hybrid battery electrodes at TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant in Gujarat, a joint venture between Toshiba, Denso and Suzuki. PM Modi addressed the gathering and praised India’s skilled workforce while sending a strong message in support of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

‘India Has The Advantage Of Demography’: PM Modi

PM Modi stated that India has a demographic advantage, which is also a benefit for its trading partners also. He cited Suzuki, a Japanese company which is manufacturing cars in India and exporting them back to Japan as an example. PM Modi hailed this as a strong symbol of the Indo-Japan relationship and confidence of global powers in India.

“India has the power of Democracy. India has the advantage of Demography. We also have a very large pool of Skilled Workforce.  Therefore, this creates a Win-Win Situation for every Partner of ours. Today, Suzuki Japan is manufacturing in India, and the cars made here are being exported back to Japan. This is not only a symbol of the strength of the relationship between India and Japan, but also reflects the global confidence in India. In a way, companies like Maruti Suzuki have become brand ambassadors of Make in India… Now, the EVs that will run in dozens of countries around the world will have written on them- Made In India,” said PM Modi.

Speaking about the projects he inaugurated today, PM Modi called them India’s big leap towards the goal of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’. He announced that electric vehicles made in India will now be exported to 100 countries, marking a significant achievement for the country’s EV industry.

“This is a big leap towards our goal of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’. From today, electric vehicles made in India will be exported to 100 countries. Along with this, hybrid battery electrolyte manufacturing is also starting today. This day is also giving a new dimension to the friendship between India and Japan. In a way, 13 years mark the beginning of teenage and teenage is the period of spreading wings. It is the period of letting dreams take flight, and a lot of dreams emerge in teenage… I am happy that today Maruti is entering its teenage years,” PM Modi said.

Furthermore, PM Modi stressed that India is unstoppable and aims to do even better with emphasis on ‘Mission Manufacturing’.

“India is not going to stop here. In the sectors where we have performed well, we aim to do even better. That is why we are emphasising Mission Manufacturing. In the coming time, our focus will be on futuristic industries. In the semiconductor sector, India is taking off… The Indian government is also aware of the shortage of rare earth manganese for the auto industry. To increase the capacity of the industry in this direction, we have also launched the National Critical Mineral Mission. Under this, more exploration missions will be conducted at different places in the country, and critical minerals will be discovered,” added the Prime Minister.
