The World Test Championship 2025 cycle heated up with the dominating win of India against Bangladesh by 280 runs, and Sri Lanka beating New Zealand by a mere 63 runs.

This performance has shaken up the tables somewhat, placing India firmly at the top and sending Sri Lanka to third place.

India Strengthens Its Leadership Position

Ravichandran Ashwin’s magnificent show (100* and 6/69) earned India 12 WTC points, and their percentage is now at 71.67%. They have clearly come out ahead of Australia, who are on 62.50%.

Bangladesh Drops To Sixth

Bangladesh’s defeat has pushed them to the sixth position at 39.29%, behind Sri Lanka and England.

Sri Lanka Revives Final Hopes

Dhananjaya de Silva’s team has gone into the third place (50% WTC points) as they won in Galle. They will have to:

  • 1. Beat New Zealand once again
  • 2. Sweeps South Africa
  • 3. Defeats Australia 2-0 home

Prabath Jayasuriya’s 9/204 won him Man of the Match.
