The young batter from New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra has scored his second Test century, and he achieved this on Day 3 of the first Test against India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. His innings played a crucial role for the Kiwis, who found themselves struggling at 204/5 till early in the day and later breached the 300-run mark.
This was Ravindra’s maiden Test hundred in Asia. New Zealand closed Day 2 at 180/3 after bowling India out for a pitiful 46 runs. Even as Ravindra, with a couple of quick wickets at the start of the third day, steadied the ship, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja did their best to put pressure from the other end. Ravindra continued his run-a-ball spree and reached his hundred off just 124 balls in the 80th over.
Rachin Ravindra’s innings was extremely special as the young batter is able to control the situation and help bring up 100 plus partnership with his team-mate Tim Southee, this showed his masterclass and great understanding of the game.

Team India In Trouble
Ravindra Jadeja played to the expectations of the Team India when he sent back Matt Henry for a mere 8 runs. With Rachin Ravindra already scoring his century, along with him is the seasoned batsman Tim Southee at the crease. At seven down, New Zealand seems keen to put up a good score in the second innings. Meanwhile, Indian bowlers are looking to get wickets in succession to win the game at an early and send New Zealand back home. Indian cricket team, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, is looking for a better third day in the first test of New Zealand at Bengaluru. India could manage a total of mere 46 which was their third-lowest total in Test history, but New Zealand has enough lead to extend its advantage on to the fourth day.
