IND Vs BAN: ‘Very Well-Planned Delivery’: Tamim Iqbal On Virat Kohli’s Dismissal

The Indian batting legend Virat Kohli lost his wicket early on the day 1 of first Test against Bangladesh. Pacer Hasan Mahmud had already picked wickets of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma following which Kohli also fell into his trap. This is not the first time that Kohli was trying to play a drive outside of off. Tamim Iqbal while commentating said that the ‘dismissal made the analyst look like magician’.

Virat Kohli was dismissed just at the mere score of 6 runs.

‘Dismissal That Makes The Analyst Look Like A Magician’

“Virat’s coming back to Test cricket after a while, so he wants to build back by feeling the ball. It happens to everyone. We have all played the game. We understand that, at times, you want to feel the ball. And I think that particular area where he got out, he has been dismissed a lot of times. This was a dismissal that makes the analyst look like a magician. It was definitely a very well-planned delivery, and Virat fell for it,” Tamim said on Sports18

The tourists were at 176/6 at Tea on Day 1 while Ravindra Jadeja (7) and Ravichandran Ashwin (21) were still in.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played well to take 56 off 118 balls, with nine boundaries, in impressive bowling by Hasan Mahmud, who took four wickets for 35 runs.

Ashwin-Jadeja Handle The Innings After Top Order Collapse

The Indian batting was an enigma – neither the pitch nor the bowlers ever looked like threatening them, except for the usual spots where Test cricket throws in its occasional uncertainties. But the home side’s batsmen could not negotiate these spots well enough, with their dismissals on most occasions coming from lapses of concentration.

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh, Ashwin demonstrated his batting abilities with an unbeaten 102 off 112 balls. His hundred and gritty 86 by Ravindra Jadeja were of significant importance in pulling India back from jaws of death after a severe early collapse.
