IND vs AUS: ‘Stern Words’ – Gautam Gambhir Addresses ‘Dressing Room’ Leaks Claims Ahead Of Sydney Test

India and Australia will play against each other in the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Rohit Sharma and Co are currently trailing in the five-match series by 1-2 and now they will be aiming to win the match and end up leveling the series. The Indian team started off the series with a brilliant 295-run win in Perth, however, they were outplayed in Adelaide and Melbourne by the Pat Cummins-led side. Also, ahead of the New Year’s Test, some leaks from the dressing room have been reported.

These leaks were addressed by Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir when he came for the press conference ahead of the IND vs AUS 5th Test. GG gave his inputs on the dressing room leaks and stated that those were all reports. He added that the Indian cricket will be in safe hands till honest players are there in the dressing room. On the other hand, he added that stern words gets exchanged between players and coach in the dressing room.

Gautam Gambhir said, “Debates between coach and player should remain in dressing room. Stern words. They were just reports not truth. Indian cricket will be in safe hands till honest people stay in the dressing room. Only thing that keeps you in the dressing room is performance. There were honest words and honesty is important. There is only one tendency and there is only one discussion – it’s the team first ideology that matters. You need to play what the team needs. You can still play your natural game in a team sport – but if the team needs you – you need to play in a certain way.”

Australia have not been able to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy since 2017. The Indian team will be under a lot of pressure when they will walk into the Sydney Cricket Ground and will look to retain the BGT trophy.
