India and Australia are playing against each other in the second Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. The Indian team was wrapped up for a score of 180 runs in their first innings wherein Australian pacer Mitchell Starc became the most successful bowler and picked up six wickets by giving away just 48 runs. The latter dismissed big names in the form of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal and almost broke the backbone of the Indian batting lineup. While all the batters were dismissed, Mohammed Siraj was the only batter unbeaten for a score of 4 runs from three balls. Fans went berserk for the same and came up with ‘DSP Siraj’ reactions.

The Indian team didn’t start well in the IND vs AUS 2nd Test Day 1 as Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed on the very first ball by Mitchell Starc. Jaiswal who smashed a ton in the previous match wasn’t able to handle the pace and swing by Starc and was trapped in front for a golden duck. Soon after the Indian team lost the first wicket, the pair of KL Rahul and Shubman Gill added 69 runs from 113 balls for the second wicket. However, the partnership was broken by Starc who dismissed Rahul and Virat Kohli early on the innings. Kohli’s wicket was followed by Shubman Gill, who was trapped in front by Scott Boland. Indian captain Rohit Sharma also couldn’t do much and became the victim of Boland.

The Indian team lost five wickets for 87 runs, Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy added 22 runs runs for the sixth wicket, but Pant’s knock was ended up by Pat Cummins. Ravichandran Ashwin showcased some attacking approach when he came out to bat and put up a stand of 35 runs with Reddy for the seventh wicket. However, after the fall of Ashwin, it was Nitish Kumar Reddy who took the aggressive approach and smashes sixes of Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland. At the end, the Indian team was wrapped up for 180 runs wherein Starc picked up a six-wicket haul.
