IND vs AUS 2nd Test: ‘Brave’ Nitish Kumar Reddy Takes On Australian Bowlers Amidst Batting Collapse In Adelaide

The India national cricket team suffered a terrible batting collapse wherein within the span of 14 balls, they lost three wickets. Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland did the damage for Australia wherein they dismissed top batters KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. Indian captain Virat Kohli didn’t do much and was dismissed for single digit score off Scott Boland. Now all the onus will be on young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. The latter showcased some aggressive brand of cricket during the Perth Test and repeated the same during the pink-ball Test as well.

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who has proved to be the standout bowler for Australia as of now was hit for a brave six down the ground by Nitish Kumar Reddy. On the first ball of the 41st over, Reddy came down the track and smashed Starc over the long off region. However, the latter didn’t stop to attack the Australian bowlers and showcased a different brand of cricket against Scott Boland. In the very next over, the second ball was reverse swept for a six, which brought a bit of Rishabh Pant vibes on the field in his absence. Another four was hit on the very next ball this time towards fine leg. The 21-year Andhra Pradesh all-rounder didn’t stop here and pulled Boland for the second six of the over towards the leg side.

The quality that the Indian team has in its bowling lineup, even a score of 200 to 250 will be very much suitable against the under pressure Australian batting lineup. The Aussies were completely exposed by Jasprit Bumrah led bowling lineup wherein top batters including Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne were dismissed cheaply during the first Test. Bumrah will have the same role to deliver when he comes into bowl in Adelaide as well.
