Income Tax department ‘surveys’ 6 properties linked to Sonu Sood

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood mostly grabs headlines for his philanthropic efforts and charity work but this time, he has become the talk of the town for not so pleasant reasons. The actor has come under the scanner of the Income Tax department and they have recently surveyed 6 locations linked to the star. His offices and residence in Mumbai are being surveyed after some suspicious activities allegedly caught the attention of the I-T department. More details on the same are yet to arrive.

Since morning, surveys are being conducted by I-T officials at the residence and offices of the Dabangg actor. Sources suggest that the IT department surveyed Sonu’s property because they suspect that there has been tampering in the book of accounts related to the actor. Times Now reporter Aruneel has reported that residences of Sonu’s relatives are also being surveyed and whether an action will be taken or not is yet to be known.

The tax survey comes weeks after the actor decided to become the brand ambassador for the Delhi government AAP’s mentorship programme for school students. Even though the actor has clarified on several occasions that he doesn’t wish to join politics but only wishes to serve the people in whichever way he can, rumours of the actor joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have been doing rounds online.

While launching the programme, a press conference was held by AAP and Sonu Sood, where they answered several questions. When asked if he will ever join politics, Sonu said on national television that he hasn’t discussed anything about elections and politics with Arvind Kejriwal because they are completely focused on the Desh Ke Mentors program. “Ye education zada bada mudda hai,” he said while addressing the media. [Translation – Education is a bigger issue.]

On the movie front, Sonu will be next seen in Prithviraj, which is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. Based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, it features Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari. The actor will also star in regional films Acharya and Thamilarasan.
