The India vs Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is all set to begin from November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The India National Cricket Team will be looking forward on performing well and starting off the series with a win. However, just ahead of the every India vs Australia series, the words-war has begun wherein players from both sides have engaged in a war of words. One such war erupted between former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting and Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Ricky Ponting On Gautam Gambhir’s Advice

Just when the Indian team was about to depart for Australia before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Ricky Ponting gave a statement wherein he pointed out Virat’s poor Test form. However, Gautam Gambhir gave a counter to ‘punter’ and stated that what does he has to do with Indian cricket and he shall focus on Australian cricket. However, Ponting doesn’t seem to agree with GG’s advice and also reiterated his prediction of 3-1 series win to Australia.

Ricky Ponting said to ICC, “I just think there’s potential for more disruption through their campaign with Sharma coming back and whatever else. So I’ll stick with it (3-1 verdict in favour of Australia).” Ponting further stated that the return of captain Rohit Sharma will cause a disruption in the side.

The Indian team performed extremely well on the previous two tours of Australia as they were able to register historic wins in both the series. However, the Indian team suffered a white-wash at the hands of New Zealand at home in the previous Test series and they will want to come out of the situation and win the series in Australia this time.
