Yashasvi Jaiswal has made significant strides in the ICC Test rankings, rising to his career-best position of No.2 for batters. His remarkable performance in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Optus Stadium in Perth was a key factor in his ascent. Despite not winning the Player of the Match award, Jaiswal’s century played a crucial role in India’s dominant 295-run victory, giving them a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

 

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Incredible Knock In Perth

In the 1st innings Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck but he made a solid comeback in the second innings and scored 161 runs off 297 balls, this included 15 boundaries and 3 sixes. His strong partnership with KL Rahul who was opening with him in absence of Rohit Sharma was extremely crucial as they put up 201-runs stand for opening wicket. Jaiswal’s performance was a reflection of his maturity and exceptional skills in the longest format.

Remarkable Year For Jaiswal

The 22-year old has been having a stellar year, he has amasses 1,280 runs in 12 Tests at an average of 58.18, this includes three centuries and seven fifties. He made his Test debut against West Indies since then he has accumulates a total of 1,568 runs in 15 Tests with the highest score of 214 not out.

Virat Kohli At No.13 Spot In Test Rankings

Virat Kohli made a significant jump and climbed at number 13 spot. The rise came after his excellent performance in Perth in first Test against Australia. He played a pivotal role and scored a magnificent ton which also marked his 30th century in Tests.

Bumrah Reclaims Top Spot Among Test Bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah has topped the chart and secures number 1 position in ICC Men’s Test Rankings for bowlers after his extraordinary performance in Perth. Bumrah’s eight-wicket haul played a pivotal role in India’s comprehensive victory, helping him rise back to the top of the bowling rankings.
