Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addresses middle class relief plea on X. The X user made the plea in response to a post by Sitharaman. Finance Minister Sitharaman acknowledged the user’s plea, saying the central government values his input and listens to people’s concerns. Tushar Sharma, a user, tagged Sitharaman on X with a heartfelt plea for relief for the middle class, acknowledging the immense challenges involved.

“We deeply appreciate your efforts and contributions to the country, and you have our utmost admiration. I humbly request you to consider providing some relief for the middle class. I understand the immense challenges involved, but it’s just a heartfelt request,” said Sharma in his post.

Sitharaman recently shared some inspiring verses from a member of the former Royal Family of Travancore, published in a newspaper. This post caught the attention of Sharma. Sitharaman responded to Sharma’s post on middle-class relief, acknowledging his concern and expressing gratitude for his input.

“Thank you for your kind words and your understanding. I recognise and appreciate your concern. PM @narendramodi’s government is a responsive government. Listens and attends to people’s voices. Thanks once again for your understanding. Your input is valuable,” responded FM Sitharaman.

Rising Inflation And The Middle Class

Rising inflation measured by consumer price index (CPI), is causing significant concern for India’s middle class, prompting worries about their financial stability. India’s retail inflation rate surged to 6.21% last month, exceeding the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) upper tolerance threshold.

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), food inflation accelerated to 10.87% last month, up from 9.24% in September. This significant increase indicates a continued upward pressure on food prices.
