Cinematographer Pratik Shah has got involved in a major controversy after he was accused of abuse and inappropriate conduct. He has worked in popular and successful projects like Jubilee, CTRL and Homebound. This came to light after filmmaker Abhinav Singh described Pratik as manipulative and emotionally abusive and also shared that many women shared their terrible experience with Shah as well. The producers of Homebound, which recently premiered at Cannes 2025, issued an official statement after these accusations came to the light.

According to ETimes, Dharma Production said in a statement, “At Dharma Productions we have a zero tolerance policy against inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment towards any individual working with us in any capacity, and we treat sexual harrasement cases very seriously. Mr. Pratik Shah was a freenlancer on the project Homebound and was working on it for a limited period. His engagement with us has been completed. During this limited period our internal committee for POSH didn’t receive any complaints against him from any cast or crew on our film ‘Homebound’.”

Pratik Shah has deleted his Instagram account following the accusations and is yet to react to this controversy.

About Homebound:

Homebound recently had its grand premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2025 and is yet to release in India. Renowned Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese also joined the film as its executive producer. He said in the statement, “I have seen Neeraj’s first film Masaan in 2015 and I loved it, so when Melita Toscan du Plantier sent me the project of his second film, I was curious. I loved the story, the culture, and was willing to help. Neeraj has made a beautifully crafted film that’s a significant contribution to Indian Cinema. I am glad the movie is an official selection at Un Certain Regard in Cannes this year.”

The movie is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Masaan fame Neeraj Ghaywan. It stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.
